HPB the Movie - What did you think? « Thread Started on Aug 15, 2009, 11:06am »
[[and if you haven't seen it yet, why not??]]
lol just kidding. Anyways, the 6th movie is OUT! Huzzah! Personally, I loved it. I went to see it with Olivia/Penelope and her sister Victor (okay, sister + Victor doesn't make sense but you know what I mean!) and in my opinion, it's one of the best ones.
I don't know if I could compare the first two movies with the later ones, because of all the HUGE changes (director, Dumbledore, the ENTIRE LANDSCAPE OF HOGWARTSwutsupwiththat?), but compared to the others, I'd say that OotP and HBP are my favs (I think it's the same director).
FINALLY Dumbledore acts...well, Dumbledore in this movie (though whywhywhy does he NEVER change his robe and 'hat'?), and I'm glad of that because, well this is his last movie (save for some bits in the seventh one I'm sure).
Yes, there were changes from the book, but they didn't irk me as much as say, Prizoner of Azkaban. I loved the acting, especially people like the main 3, Luna and Draco (poor Draco, I actually feel sorry for him in this one!), and the fun wizarding factor was back up again.
Soooooooooooo, WHAT DID YOU THINK? Postypostyposty!

*laughs at Ralin*
Well, for my part, I liked it and hated it all at the same time. I mean, having read the book like..... um..... fifty million times there were little quirks that made me fidget but at the same time... You have to realize that things had to be a bit different because of the fact the book is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long... It would have ended up being ... what..... 8 hours long otherwise? LOL
I loved the part they did with Harry and Ginny and explaining their relationship. The part where he goes out and they fight the Death Eaters was completely AWESOME. I also love the comedy they kind of included with the teenage drama going on with all them.
Another part that i liked was how they managed to actually give you clues into Snape and Draco. I, too, felt sorry for Draco AND Snape. Talk about a rock and a hard place!

THERE WAS NO FIGHT AT THE END AND THE BURROW NEVER STARTED ON FIRE IN THE BOOK. AND THEY DIDN'T MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT POSSIBLE OTHER HORCRUXES. ARG. ARG ARG ARG.

LOL That's a good point. The whole Burrow exploding scene was like....duhhhwaht? And I thought there was fighting at the end, the whole thing with the instant darkness from the twins' shop and wasn't it Bill that got attacked by the werewolf and such?
But I think that you're right Emmi, the insight into Draco and Snape were well done, I started to actually feel for them. And I loved the humor, Dumbledore was much more on par with this too.
And I think they did Dumbledore's death perfectly. You could've heard a pin drop in the theater at that (as Olivia put it). Slughorn was great too :]
